Why Iona only works with solid Australian Opal - Hint: It's the best!

Opal jewellery should be something you can wear anytime, anywhere, and treasure for a lifetime. That is where quality and durability matters.
And that’s why I don’t work with Doublets or Triplets. I choose solid Australian opals only—they’re naturally stable, strong, and they are the quality you expect in opal jewellery.
Doublets and triplets are made by bonding a thin slice of opal to a backing with glue, which enhances their appearance but makes them more sensitive to perfumes, water and humidity over time. Great for Dress Jewellery and occasional wear, but I prefer working with opals that people can wear every day with confidence.
Solid Australian opals have formed over millions of years, making them incredibly stable.
That’s why I choose to exclusively work with them—I want to be associated with jewellery that is made to last forever.
Every piece I create is unique, showcasing the natural beauty of each individual solid opal—no two are ever the same.
Opal is too beautiful to save for special occasions, right?
Solid Australian opals are made to be worn, loved, and treasured for a lifetime.
