A 34ct set of 4 treated matrix opals from Jundah, displaying a full rainbow colour spectrum. Solid Australian opal.
The four freeform stones range from 16mm to 24mm long and show bright to very bright colour across the full rainbow, set against their darkened host rock. They were mined at Jundah in western Queensland.
Please Note: This is a treated Matrix Opal. Matrix opal features opal interspersed within its host rock. To bring out its captivating colours, the opal undergoes a sugar treatment β soaked in a sugar solution, then heated in acid to darken the matrix and enhance the opal's natural brilliance. Sugar treating is only done on Matrix opal; our Coober Pedy, Lightning Ridge and Queensland Boulder opals are treatment free.
